I've been asking that question for the past year, still have not found a decent price on one, with decent being what I'm willing to pay...and it ain't no one or two hundred dollars.

They have small digital ones on Ebay that are under $20.00
You program them to the Cylinder count.
I have one on my Lawnmower believe it or not!

You can get the same Tach for $124.65 if you get it directly from the source.

I have an old 6 volt tach in the garage I got a few years ago before switching to 12 volt. I want to say it's a Sun but not sure off hand. I'll take a look over the weekend if you're interested in it just send me a private message on here and we'll work out a deal.

So a 3500 rpm tach would suffice. I saw one on the Westach site. I'll have to save up my beer bottle recycle money.

You get what you pay for. If you buy cheap you can expect problems. I find the $140 at Snyders to be reasonable. Wayne

I should add it might be awhile since I can't drink... I'll have to steal the bottles from my neighbors.

If you want to pay the money, you can get a Classic Instrument that is programmed for 6 or 12 volts with a custom face. This is my 3-3/8" tach. I also have a 2" tach that reads 4000 RPM that was not only cheap, but impossible to read,

Re: Tachometer?

I have a "tiny tach" on mine, google tiny tach. When I ordered it I told them that it was for a model A. Cost was $47.00. Digital, self contained, no connections just wire warped around coil wire. Shows hours when engine is off.

I agree,

I also am using a "Tini Tach". VERY easy to install and works really well.

Re: Tachometer?

Unlike Buster (Bill, #12) my dog Alex is a French poodle and just does not like the smell of the shop or something, will not even lie down on the blanket I put in for him. I have even tried to get him into the car with a restraint, but no luck. Hence, I had to buy the Westach tach, and it works fine.

My dog does fine driving my parts chaser truck but when he gets in the model A, he likes to hear the engine hum so he won't shift till the valves float. I can't seem to get him to look at the tach.
