Color of 36 -5 w

Been ready to paint my 36-5 w for about 4 years now and stil can't decide on a color.!!!! Crazy hu. Get the color charts out and very few are the colors of the carsi see.I guess the color chips have all faded over years..I like WB but have seen only a couple colors that I like and dont know if owner used another color code and just call it WB also like vineyard green, also different versions .found a Limco dealer close that has all the color codes .guess best thing would get 1/2 pints @ $20 a piece and se what comes close to my color..any ideas?????? Or good color for 36

Not an easy decision. I go around with colors for weeks and then go Black.

There's a '36 roadster on ebay now.I don't know if it's an original color but I think the beige looks nice.

There's something about black for a coupe. I had a Cordoba gray roadster and that was the best color for it. JMO

Go with the original color from the factory if you can figure it out.

If not, there is always Henry Ford Black.

The Bonnie and Clyde car is Cordoba Grey, which is not really a grey in the traditional sense.

There s no cordoba Grey listed for 36 ,,,,,,in my books... Think it was was a 34 Color

If I like it ,it would be fine, close enough.Mine looked exactly like the grey one in picture above wish I had left it like that, but full of mice ,stunk bad!!!!

Tony, were those two pictures taken at the CNM in Auburn, Indiana? I know I have seen both of those cars at past EFV-8 Club meets. The black coupe was so well done I just couldn't stop looking at it and taking pictures. I really liked the other 36 with original patina as well. First time I saw that one was at the St. George Utah meet in 2010, but can't recall if I saw it at the Auburn meet. I also have a bunch of pictures of that one taken at St. Geo.

Don, why not attend one of this years EFV-8 Club meets and spend some time looking at the colors of all the 36's you can find. Maybe one will really jump out at you and you could get details on the paint used on that particular car. What was the original color of your car?

I know what color my coupes will be when, or if, I ever get them on the road. They were both originally black as Henry made them, and that's how they will stay as long as I own them. My next favorite original Ford color is Dearborn Blue used in 34 and 35, but Washington Blue used in 36 wasn't that bad either IMO.

Yes John, those photos were taken at the Early Ford V-8 Club of America National Meet at Auburn, Indiana, in August 2011.

I agree, the black 1936 Coupe was well done and a real knock -out. Like you, I could not get enough of it. A very beautiful car. And the patina Coupe was another fascinating car. I just love the Ford Meets--they are just V-8 heaven.
