engine green

Is the engine green sold by the Model A vendors like Snyder's the same as used on the early V8s?

The engine in my car looks like a darker color.

Thanks,

John

Re: engine green

I bought some "Ford Engine Green" at a local auto supply store and it turned out to be what I remember my 53 Merc engine color, no where near the Model A engine color I was aiming for.

Re: engine green

I got the "dark green" engine paint for both the '39 LZ and the '39 CS from Bill Hirsch. I also got the "Ford Red" for my '53 from him back in 1975 and the paint is still good although it took a while to mix it up the last time I used it to touch up the paint on the 8RT in the '53 Panel truck...;)

Re: engine green

In theory they are the same, but over the years all of the different producers of that paint have left us with some variations, both lighter or darker, bluer or yellower or grayer.

John:

I used the green from Synder's and worked for me, price was right and it has been on for eight years.

Nothing to do with color, but Bill Hirsch is good paint. I prefer the brush on type.
