Brake Energizer kit?

Has anyone here installed this kit? I saw a video where a guy claims he installed the kit on his vehicle, the car stopped on the dime at a high rate of speed. It looked amazing, is it TRUE?

I assume you are talking about Teds.

Teds kit will NOT fix bad brakes.

What you gain is a lighter touch to the pedal but you still need properly installed and adjusted brakes.

Doesn't his kit also get the bias moved to the front?

If one has properly installed and adjusted brakes with all new rebuilt parts, Is Teds kit a plus? is it an additional benefit or not worth the extra $ ?

If you properly redo the brakes restoring the factory tolerances you are likely to find the addition of the Ted's parts just an added complication.

Of course to properly redo the brakes to factory tolerances is not easy, cheap and is something that requires tools most do not have. You are likely better off paying for parts that are properly done.

If you can lock up all four wheels on pavement your brakes are in good shape. Ted's brakes make it so the forward shoe can be a leading shoe so now you have a double leading shoe system. Sort of like having power brakes. If you don't understand leading shoe trailing shoe you won't understand what I am talking about. I have Ted's system on my car and they work well.

Could the statement also be said that if you remove 4 springs from the brake shoes, that it will feel like "having power brakes"?
.

Re: Brake Energizer kit?

No Brent. It has nothing to do with removing the spring. It is the energizing effect of two leading shoes.

I like my stock brakes and have never considered changing the system.
I don't see the need for change.

Look what happened with the last hope and change.:mad::D

If you read the third line of my post "What you gain is a lighter touch to the pedal .." Is a lighter touch worth the money? Only you know.
