Cam ID Help 5 Attachment(s)
I’ve come across some sort of performance camshaft and I’d like help identifying it … if possible. Unfortunately, there are no marks on it whatsoever aside from "91A" cast into it between a couple lobes. I'd guess this means it was ground from a 1939 core.
The lobes are much wider at the ends than a stock bump-stick, plus it was mounted to a cam gear that has 12 holes in it, ostensibly so it can be adjusted. You can also see where it’s been ground down compared to a factory unit. As for numbers, the overall height of each lobe is around 1.303” while the base circle measures 0.962”. This yields an approximate total lift of .341”. Any ideas what this cam could possibly be or how aggressive it is? I’m not sure if this one is usable as there are some weird marks on some of the heels (galling?). Thanks! |
Re: Cam ID Help The abuse marks could have been done by a broken rod flailing around or just banging around in a box or bin.
There is no way to know what it is without degreeing it. |
