Dual Exhaust?

Anyone running Dual Exhaust on their A?

Re: Dual Exhaust?

Yes. Custom headers with dual outlets on modified engine. I read somewhere, I think maybe a Bill Stipe post or something, that the stock manifold is a good one and works fine up until about 80 hp. The dual exhausts are noisy.
If you do set up true independent dual exhausts, set them up right so 1-4 are one pipe and 2-3 are the other. Otherwise the adjacent cylinder cam overlap period affects their efficiency.

My new ride, a '31 Vickie with Rutherford power has duals. If I were building it, it would have a single exhaust.

Jim that description is terrible without a picture.
Your going to say you have a Vicky with a Rutherford and not show a picture?

Tiny, I'm old and slow so don't have the smarts to post a pic here, sorry!

I also prefer a single pipe.
A single 3" pipe has more cross sectional area and less back pressure than two 2" pipes.
