Auction in NJ |
Re: Auction in NJ Yes, but..
If you really look through the pictures you will see most of the parts are generic general make stuff. Yes he has some engines and cars, but it is not a good solid collection of A parts. I had been to house a couple of times plus seeing what he was selling at flea markets. I would recommend spending some time looking at the pictures at the auction website before deciding if there is enough there of what you need before traveling. The cars he has are very interesting, but I am not looking to buy a car or stock up on parts. I am just interested in some certain common A parts and I do not see them in the picts. Even though it is close I am not sure if I will make it out (I have issues with someone watching my 2 young boys too). |
Re: Auction in NJ and one more mention Kevin, not to discourage anyone from attending and bidding, but at this auction you will pay a 13% premium for parts- 6% to the auctioneer and 7%
to NJ. Kind of like being a seller on ebay, where ebay gets 10% and paypal 3%. when you go to a flea such as Hershey, you just pay the price wo any other fees, and you can even haggle the asking price down in many cases............. I will go, but basically for the show and fun! |

I am used to that here in NJ. Used to by pinball machines at auction. I calculate that in my head when I come up with what I would pay. Lost a lot of auctions where the price went up to the point where the extras made the item not worth it. |
Re: Auction in NJ Here's a newspaper feature on tomorrow's auction:

Re: Auction in NJ I stopped out today, but wont be heading back tomorrow. Believe it will be a mad house.
Many fun things to see and tons of parts, but I just dont want to store anymore. Would like to see the final sale prices on the cars. Not quite sure which vehicle the auctioneer thinks might fetch 35k, but I didnt see anything remotely close. The jeep was quite nice in it's original condition and probably will be the high sale of the auction, due to it's rarity. A few of the A's I was interested in, were in just a little worse condition then the photos showed from the auction site. Hope everyone has a good time that goes and enjoys the "treasures" they buy! |
Re: Auction in NJ I would like to hear what the cars end up selling for. If anyone goes and would take notes that would be great.

Re: Auction in NJ Rt 40? Sounds like the old "Cowtown" location. I used to buy feeder pigs there when they were doing the animal auctions. It is just about the farthest you can get and still be in Jersey. Two and a half hours from Jackson and Jackson's pretty far from anywhere. Why not go to a more central location? Too much trucking? I'd like to go, but it's just too far and the premiums are too high. Try Albert's Auctions in Hightstown, He never used to charge a premium. (Now? Who knows?)

Re: Auction in NJ actually Terry, only 10 minutes south of Deptford, so not all that far...........

Re: Auction in NJ Who went to the auction?
How did it go? How was the pricing? |
Re: Auction in NJ WHAT???? I haven't been there in a dog's age, but I recall it being further than that. The auction was 11 Mi east on of the Delaware Memorial on 40 IIRC, Ten minutes on 295. Some how I was thinking 49 was 40. It's shocking how your memory plays tricks on you. I was involved with the building of Southwoods State Prison in the 90s, under Whitman and the Woodbine Developmental Center and I had to go to the Marine Police in Bivalve and Shellpile for some projects that they were doing then. Jersey people that far south, speak with a faint southern accent.
Betcha didn't know that the State of Delaware has about a hundred acres on this side of the River. It's the weirdest thing! Terry, The old fart with CRS (Can't Remember Sh*t) Quote:

Re: Auction in NJ Is that the auction with a WW2 Ford GPW jeep being offered? As a rule, I avoid such auctions with registration, extra fees and excess taxation. Too much bother . . .

Re: Auction in NJ I started a new post with the car prices not including the add ons.
