shock rebuilder

Who rebuilds original shocks these days. I am looking for someone who will do the rebuild and return the shocks in a reasonable time frame. I have what I believe is 22 rebuildable shocks and need two sets done.

Re: shock rebuilder

I had a few original shocks rebuilt about (7) years ago to where they did not leak, "much".

Also, they offered good resistance.

However, when tested with a device similar to the K.R. Wilson tool described in
Ford's hard cover bound Model A Ford Service Bulletins, Figure 1116 ............. two (2) had resistance in the correct direction, and two (2) had resistance in the wrong direction.

No doubt many have received rebuilt shocks, moved the arms up and down, felt resistance ............ but never noticed that some rebuilt shocks were provided with incorrect internal parts.

Next, ordered all new shocks ...... glad I did.

At the top of the forum section is a sticky that has a lot of the vendors that people use. There are a number of vendors/people listed that repair shocks. Robert Paul and John Holland both do a good job of restoration. Their numbers are listed. You could also do the search and pull up shocks and their will be quite a bit of info and discussion on the repair of them as well.

Robert Paul did 3 sets for me several years ago and I was quite happy. However, he takes a long time to rebuild them, or at least he use to - 3 to 6 months. John Holland, I believe provides a much faster service at about the same cost.

John Holland did mine. Reasonable and I'm happy. Fat and happy but I just finished lunch.
