Re: Scale Model of a Model a Hubley model cars have all kinds of models of Model A's. Same comment, go on EBay and key in Hubley cars.
Also many Model A clubs and at local and national meets they have races of Hubey Model A's |
Re: Scale Model of a Model a Hubley made a Fordor model. The only place you'll find them now is on ebay, though.

Re: Scale Model of a Model a All Hubley Model A's are 1930 models.

Well, OK-I guess my point was to say they are not being made anymore. |
Re: Scale Model of a Model a Good morning, here is a link to a thread on my Hubley Sedan "Build". http://fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=180237 I got my '30 Town Sedan off ebay but after I bought it I heard of "Ralph the Hubley Man" 562-863-0302. You might give him a try. I seem to remember Tom Endy did an article on him...?

Re: Scale Model of a Model a Though not a Fordor and not a 1929, AMT made a plastic 1/25 scale 1928 Model A Tudor kit:

Re: Scale Model of a Model a Hubley originally made 7 body styles for the A. As stated, Victoria, Fordor (town) sedan, station wagon, coupe, roadster pickup, phaeton, roadster, all with left fender well. Some appear to be hybrids between '30 and '31, all with '30 rad. shells, one piece splash aprons, straight windshields except the Vicky. One can grind off and fill in the fender well and place the spare on the rear with a screw or dowel, etc.

Re: Scale Model of a Model a Recall those Hubley metal Model A Ford kits from the late 1950s. To recollection, there was a Fordor, Phaeton, Roadster and Pickup Truck. There might have been a Coupe also. The kit assembler was required to remove lots of raw flashing and the cast body panels were joined with fat Phillips screws. My favorite was the big Fordor sedan. Fun thing about those Hubley cars was that if a person got tired of the model color, it could be dropped into a bucket of paint remover. Wipe it off and then hit it again with some fresh rattle can spray paint.
There was a "Made in China" brand of 1:18 scale of 1931 Model A Ford cars under at least one name of "Motor City Classics" . Those assembled metal models were manufactured from the late 1990s through the about 2007. The 1/18th cars show up on Ebay all the time at various "Buy it Now" prices from around twenty bucks to well over a hundred smackers. . I was able to purchase one of the year 2000 edition 1931 Ford Roadsters for $23 plus $8 shipping. The detail on these models is quite good. This car even has a Flying Quail radiator cap. There seem to have been a few different cars created including 1931 Pickup, Roadster, Tudor Sedan, Van and Tow Truck. There also variations such as Tudor Model A Ford police car. Also too, there was a Tudor sedan rusty rat infested "Barn Find" heap and others. My only critique was the positioning of the cowl lights which seemed too far back on the cowl. After getting the 31' Roadster model it was realized that to open the hood with clearance it was necessary for the manufacturer to place the cowl lights in that position. |

Re: Scale Model of a Model a On any model I've looked at, the spoked wheels are not right. Any models with proper wheels out there?
