carter carb: the price was right

A friend gave me a Carter AFB off of his 66 Barracuda. He'd had it in storage for years and it's obviously never been tampered with or even apart. It appears in pretty good condition though of course it's going to have to be cleaned and kitted. My understanding is this is the original version of Edelbrock's carb but have no idea what the CFM is on this one tagged 4119S. It seems like a good candidate for a flathead as it came off a relatively small V8.

Suggestions? Where to start tuning wise?

Take a look at this link about the carb you have. Pretty neat. Looks like that carb was for a 4 speed.

That may be a valuable core to a guy restoring a 66 Baracuda...might fetch a couple hundred dollars or more to the right guy..

The AFB was a good carb.

19 Fordy; Yes. The carb was off of a 4 speed Formula S. I had a chance to buy the car, a one owner, 10 or so years ago. It just didn't float my boat. Still doesn't.
