Thanks, Pat. Does anyone know what kind of engine is in the roadster pickup shown in photo 37 ? Don't remember ever seeing valve covers like that.

Hey Pat - did you happen to go? I was there last year - just didn't have time to go this year. It is a great show - and it sure is fun getting the heck out of Ohio at that time of year! Take care my friend - stop by and see us at Wilmington for the ECTA meet, might bring my 32 out there and scare the women and children. LOL

Hi Joe, that engine is a Ford Boss 429, derived from the 385 series engines. There was a smaller cube (don't recall how big it was) version in trucks and then there were 429 and 460 engines. The Boss had unique heads, a much stronger bottom end and a stout cam. Ford had the FE 427 in Nascar, tried to get the 427 SOHC engine approved but Bill France said no and eventually the Boss 429 became their Nascar engine when the FE's were discontinued. They built a limited number of Mustangs with single 4 barrel and milder compression and cam for street use to qualify them as "production available", a requirement for Nascar.

B&S, No, didn't go! Would have been nice though. A friend of mine shared the link with me...so I am just passing it along. It's nice here in Lakeland, FL. Been in the mid 70's recently. Will be back in Ohio after the NSRA Meet in Tampa the 1st of April. Hope to see you in Wilmington!

Pat
