Teacup tailight gasket I am going to assemble a teacup taillight body for my 29 CCPU shortly. There is a gasket and snap ring used in the rim along with the lens. Maybe is it evident the order the parts are installed, but I am not sure of the order. Is the cork gasket on the inside or outside of the lens? Also, when is the snap ring installed.
Thanks for any help. Rusty Nelson |
Re: Teacup tailight gasket The snap ring holds the lens in the rim. The gasket goes on when you install the lens and rim on the light

Also, when you work on it put a rug or mat down under the tailight when you are working.I think the Model A tailight lense is one of the slipperiest things known to man.Steve, when I see a post from you I want to go down cellar to see if my Tudor is still there.

Re: Teacup tailight gasket Thanks Steve, that helps. BTW, I have a brass rim that I bought at a swap meet sometime back. When I try to put it on the brass taillight body, it is very, very tight. In fact, I am not sure it will even go onto the body far enough. When I try to remove the rim from the body it is real hard to do, as it is so tight. Should the rim fit that tight?
