1936 ford roadster help needed! Who has one? Hey guys, Im in the process of restoring a 1936 ford roadster for a customer and greatly need some dimensions. The body was a hot rod at one time so its been a real challenge bringing the whole thing back to stock. Im on the home stretch but I am stuck on the door hole locations for the side curtains. I need to know the location for the holes in the sides of the doors, from edges of door and from the beltline crease, also need the location for the hole that corresponds on the cowl. From what i understand so far, 1935 is different so it has to be from a 1936. Thanks for any info.

Re: 1936 ford roadster help needed! Who has one? The side curtain socket locations on the doors and body are the same for '35 and '36. The side curtains themselves are the same for late '35s and '36s. The early '35 curtains differ in where they attach to the windshield posts and windshield frame, but not otherwise.

Re: 1936 ford roadster help needed! Who has one? Thanks so much uncle buck. They are all so different, which ones do i use??? I dont want to put holes in the wrong place but maybe im just over thinking it. Its been driving me crazy! The side curtains and rods we have are new from le barron bonney and they dont seem to line up with any of those measurements given. guessing those arent exactly accurate either.

Re: 1936 ford roadster help needed! Who has one? I have more doors I can measure, but you are correct they do seem to vary

Re: 1936 ford roadster help needed! Who has one? That's why LeB/B normally insists on the customer using paper patterns they supply to mark the location of the side curtain sockets before they install the male fasteners in the curtains. The other variables are the top irons and bows as variations in those can also affect the side curtain fastener placement.
