Re: who is best for glass?

I replaced my '30 Briggs Town Sedan cracked laminated drivers door glass with tempered safety glass from Bert's. Fit is great. Don't know why but that was the only window (beside the windshield) that was laminated and of course that's the one that cracked.

Give you local glass shop a crack at it. Most oldtime shops have the patterns for lots of older cars.
Or Bert's as Yblock said

Re: who is best for glass?

My local glass shop "Sedro-Woolley Glass", did my Model A glass for about half of what Mac's charges, and there wasn't any freight charges either. I had to supply my own patterns and I had overnight service. Try your local glass shop. The old timers in glass seem to have the best prices. An example of price is the rear window in my '31 pick up was only $26 for laminated glass. Mac's was about $70 plus freight for the same

FWIW here's an article on the Ford Garage about Laminated vs Tempered.
http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/craiglewisglass.htm

Local shops can't cut tempered glass, that's why one of the reasons I suggested Bert's.

Re: who is best for glass?

All my glass is done local, like others have said, I get it at half the price, I get it in half the time.
It helps a local business, keeps your money local, helps keep your neighbor in a job

Re: who is best for glass?

Rule of thumb Windshield has to be laminated (AS1). Sideglass tempered (AS2). So the side glass will shatter in a collision. The windshield will hold in the occupants.
