Rochester Carb Help 4 Attachment(s)
Can anyone tell me anything about this Rochester Carb. I was told it is a 4 bolt for a Mercury. Was it for a Mercury? What year was it used? Are they any good? Is it rare? What are they worth? Thanks Fordbarn!

Re: Rochester Carb Help Since it's a Rochester, I doubt that it was ever used on a Mercury; they used a Holley that looked similar. I believe it is for '49-'50 Oldsmobiles.

Re: Rochester Carb Help NOT a Mercury, although it will probably bolt-on to a '49-type 4-bolt manifold.
It's a Rochester Products 7002570, originally for a '49-50 Olds 303 V8. Click these two eBay links for examples. Re: Rochester Carb Help I think there was only one Ford application of a Rochester carb...way off topic here.

Yes, in '70 and '71 they installed Rochester Quadrajets on some 429 Fords. Sal |

Re: Rochester Carb Help "Seriously? Any ideas as to WTF that was all about, other than it probably ran and economized better than any Autolight? DD "
Yes, it's true. I used to have the Rochester service manual that listed them for '70 and '71 429's. Not sure why. Very unusual. Maybe there was a shortage of Autolites. Sal |

Re: Rochester Carb Help What you have is better known as a smudgepot, was std equipment on 49-50 Olds.

Or officially known as the Rochester model "AA". Sal |
