coupe or sedan Is the Victoria considered a coupe or a sedan? Does the designation affect insurance rates?
|
Re: coupe or sedan Not sure if it affects insuarance rates but i would consider it a sedan...

Re: coupe or sedan Originally when the Victoria was introduced in the Fall of 1930 as a 1931 model, it was called the "Victoria Coupe". But sometime in 1931 the "Coupe" part was dropped and it became the "Victoria". Yes, it should be considered a sedan for insurance purposes.

Re: coupe or sedan My understanding is that the Victoria was referred to as a "Special Coupe".
I do not think what ever you want to call it would have any effect on insurance rates. With original old cars, insurance rates are usually based on "Stated Value" or the worth of vehicle, and not on body style. This is my understanding. Chris W. |

Re: coupe or sedan I would go by the way the insurance co. and the state registers the vehicle. If a cop pulls you over and the registration calls it a coupe and you are driving a fordor sedan that could ring some bells. I think you just have to use common sense. I would call a Victoria a tudor sedan because of the back seat on the registration. Make sure the title matches the description however.
