Re: Finding an F150 4spd OD trans for Model A Is this the Madza trans of the Ford pick up and vans of the 1980s ? I had a van with one, POS! $900 for a rebuilt replacement! The 1988 Van was new from the factory, I ordered it that way. Extremely heavy like an automatic.

Re: Finding an F150 4spd OD trans for Model A After I get healed up from last weeks surgery I will be taking a trip to the U-Pull-It yard. What is the easiest way to tell these transmissions from the others? Likely I will be spending the whole day, maybe two days if the pickings are good. Also need to be able to tell the correct T-5's. Might get lucky and bring home a pickup load of transmissions if things look good. I have not payed much attention to these in the past so will need to get schooled up good before I go. Rod

Re: Finding an F150 4spd OD trans for Model A This transmission is called an RTS tranny, it is made by Tremec. These are very nice as the stick comes up thru the floor almost where the early fords do. Unfortunately they were only used for a few years in f 150 pickups, and are not exactly plentiful. I found a nice one on Ebay. There was a thread a while back on a member in Texas that converts them to go into early fords. Rich
