1930 splash shield repair

Im wanting to reuse my orignal splash shields but the part that meets the running boards is rusted and deteriorated. Is there any parts available to repair that edge?

you could fabricate anew edge with some sheet metal and fiberglass. I would try to find some good used ones.

Don't mess with the fiberglass part. I would try and repair what metal you have.

You should be able to splice in the part from a reproduction shield if you can't make what you need. As for a patch being available, I have not seen any.

Make it yourself.

It is not very hard to do.

The big thing is to understand about how and why metal shrinks and when you need to use shrinkage and when to correct it. Once you figure that out all sorts of panel repair is suddenly not so hard. You can go to Smartflix.com and rent some metal working videos like shrinking magic or making a fender. There are some websites to go to like tinmantech.com where you can glean some more tidbits.

It helps to buy some new cold rolled 20 gauge metal as it is easier to work. I started out using pieces from junk hoods and such and the first time I worked with new I never went back to piece of scrap.
