32 ford bezel (bull nose) (horse collar) 6 Attachment(s)
I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about these, chrome over brass bezels a lot heavier than the original pot metal one ,and actually nicer.i have five of the over time and nobody seems to know.some have a #2 and some have a #3 on them ,and no they are not aluminum ,
Thanks for any help Pete |
Re: 32 ford bezel (bull nose) (horse collar) Look like the early Vintique ones before they made the aluminum ones. Not very attractive.I think TJ might be right about Gene Scott making those.

Re: 32 ford bezel (bull nose) (horse collar) Looks like an early repo. Possible something made by Gene Scott who made a lot of repo stuff in the L.A. area. I'll bet if you could find someone who worked at Ford Parts Obsolete in Long Beach they could tell you who made it.

Re: 32 ford bezel (bull nose) (horse collar) PSI was part of it. As I recall he had 3 different companies all using different names. Not sure but I think Bill McGrath of the Early Ford Store may have bought up some of Scott's stuff.

Re: 32 ford bezel (bull nose) (horse collar) A fellow named Gordon that was a close friend of Gene's has the place and is still selling parts that were left.He also sells shackle bushing sets etc.Has a swap space every year at LARS.

PSI was suspension components and Antique Parts Sales Corporation was rubber and some repro trim parts, etc. I remember seeing Gene's '40 Deluxe headlamp bezels in 1976, but do not recall a '32 grille bezel. The headlamp bezels were kinda crude, but his rubber stuff, cowl lacing and lots of other small stuff was pretty decent. Maybe the third company was Antique Auto, Gene had a large outdoor lot of vintage tin.

Re: 32 ford bezel (bull nose) (horse collar) He was the first to over new rubber covers for '32 running boards. The pattern was excellent, but in the molding or formulation of the rubber compound, shrinkage was evidently not taken into consideration and as a result they had to be stretched to fit on the original steel foundations. That was nearly 50 years ago.
