The 2015 HCCA Holiday Motor Excursion was yesterday in Pasadena, CA and what a show it was! There were so many and such a variety of automobiles and so many people, it was hard to get all of the pictures I wanted. The weather was clear and cool, perfect for the tour. Here are some of the vehicles that showed up.

Re: 2015 Holiday Motor Excursion

It was another great Holiday Motor Excursion. I have been attending almost regularly for 20+ years. I flew out for the weekend and got to ride and drive in a friend's Pierce which I sold him a few years back.

There are cars that have been attending the HME for decades and there are cars that have never been seen before or are re-appearing with new owners after years of absence. The variety ranges from Model Ts and As, to large brass cars, big Full Classics, small one and two cylinder vehicles, buses, vintage motorcycles, etc. To participate in the tour itself, vehicles need to be 1932 or earlier and stock. At the starting point, there are LOTS of traditional hot rods and other vintage cars that just come to see the old cars take off. They create their own show. Cars start arriving at the crack of dawn.

Every year at this event, I notice more and more young people. It seemed in years past, the young people were passengers, but now there are more young drivers with their young families riding in the back seats. I also noticed an increase in the amount of female drivers.

The amount of energy seen at this event continues to grow each year as does the number of attendees. The interest in prewar cars is certainly alive and well.
