Not a Model A Ford. Anyone guesses as to what this is?

Try coachbuilt.com - BUT IMO, it could be home made, big car but it almost looks open between driver's area and back. Also looks really tight if in fact the driver's compartment is separate as a true town car.

Roofline looks like a Franklin but nose does not.

There are indeed many indications to suggest it is a car made from many others! Lines are not true or well defined. Lacks look of professional design. Wayne

The cowl lights remind me of mid to late 20's Studebaker

To me, the 4 bolt disk wheels scream 26-28 Chevy, but the belt line is all wrong. The headlights appear to be '30 Nash. The car looks to have been lengthened a bit and the front door looks home made. I'll keep digging...

Looks like a Chauffeur driven Dignitary Car. Beautiful car, but I agree, this car belongs indoors.............

The trim line on the rear quarter doesn't match up to the rear door bottom.

Re: What make is this Town Car?

The wheels look to be similar to the Disteel 20 inch wheels. That would make the wheelbase close to 145 inches. The body appears to be added on to the rest of the car. The belt moldings, front doors and cowl don't seem to match the rest of the car. My guess is that the body was added and altered to look like a town car.

Looking at roof, I'm thinking foreign. Not a very balanced design.

Re: What make is this Town Car?

I believe this is in fact a Hodge Podge.

The wheels, as well as the Cowl Lights and Hood Lowers do look Chevy-like. However, the Hood's slope does not.

The Rear portion, as well as the vertical Windscreen strongly suggest a Franklin, as does the Hood (Franklin also used the movable louvers, and on some models it was sloped).

For all appearances the car was stretched (poorly, I should add...)

Re: What make is this Town Car?

Look at how close the steering wheel is to the dash rail. I think it might be a knuckle buster.

Why does the wheel to rim on the axles have 4 clamps, but the spare looks like 5?

Re: What make is this Town Car?

Ronn - funny you suggest it was built in the 70s. I remember these types of towncar bodystyles would show up in a lot of ads, TV, etc. and likely in part due to "The Sting" and "The Great Gatsby". I remember drawing a bunch of these as a kid in the early 70s - and I think my designs as an 11 year old were as good as this one....
