'29 Emergency Brake Cross-Shaft

I have the cross-shaft removed for media blasting/paint. The "ears" that the rods connect to have a slight bend in them. Are they supposed to be in-line with the shaft.?

The ends that fit on the cross shaft have a slight twist on the eyelets to align with the front and rear brake levers as they are further outside. Once you install the assembled brake cross shaft, you can see why the ears have a slight angle to them.

I understand that is true of the service brake cross-shaft, so also a slight bend for the emergency brake cross-shaft.?

Yes, the emergency outside arms are bent at a slight angle for the same reason the service brake eyelets are a a slight angle.
