1937 Fordor Pin Stripe Question

Hello!
My first posting on the early V-8 side of "Fordbarn"!!! I usually spend my time over in the Model A and T sections. A couple very knowledgeable and helpful readers of this website have been guiding me through a brake rebuild procedure on my 85 year-old friend's 1937 Fordor Sedan. I'm almost finished with that little project. Time to turn to something less demanding.
One of the guys has sent me a good description of the pin stripe placement. However, I'd like to see some photos of completed pin striping on 1937 Fords, especially around the grille area. Could some kind soul please post a photo of this area so that I don't mess up the pin striping job over the weekend? A written description is helpful, but a photo or two will be even better.
Thanks in advance!

Marshall, here is a picture of my coupe showing the pinstripe, same as a fordor, goes all the way round the car.

This is great stuff and a big help! Thanks! Any views of how the stripe runs beneath the trunk?

There is a very good photo in the Early Ford V-8 Club of America book titled "The 1937 Ford Book" of Ford factory personnel applying the pinstripe on the front of the car.

Super! This is just what I needed. Thank you all so much for your input and photos. I think even a dolt like me can now stripe my friend's car tomorrow with a degree of authenticity.

Re: 1937 Fordor Pin Stripe Question

If I had been a new Ford car buyer in 1937 I would have told the dealer to get me one with no pin striping.
Just my humble opinion.

Re: 1937 Fordor Pin Stripe Question

What is the width of the pinstripe and distance from the top edge? Also the distance from the front end of the stripe to the edge of the grille side. Then it will be easy to follow it all the way back, around the trunk and up the other side. Thanks.

Re: 1937 Fordor Pin Stripe Question

The details of the body stripe are documented in the Early Ford V8 club’s book on the 1937 models on pages 2-2 and 2-3. The width of the stripe is 3/32” and it is located 1/2” below the upper body section. From the picture on page 2-3, the beginning of the stripe at the front of the car appears to start about 1/2” rearward of the grille upper corner.

Thanks Zeke, I glossed over those pages, didn’t read close enough. Duh!!
