Model A and Model B engines like it hot?

Do the Model A and Model B engines really like to run hot? I am asking this question because
Years ago when I was looking into putting a high efficiency water pump on my model B 1933
Someone on this board commented.. 4 cylinders like to run hot don't try to make them cooler!

Do you mean like hard to keep cool?
Or do you mean it's better to run them hotter than cooler?

They run hot mostly from bad radiators or wrong ignition timing.

Engines run better at 180 than 140, if that's what you mean.

Normally, with everything in good condition they run too cool. A thermostat is recommended by many of us.
