Overdrive I. D. 3 Attachment(s)
Does anybody have any information on this overdrive. It is in a 1929 Roadster Pickup that was built by a man in PA. The builder died a couple of years ago and a friend bought the truck. We know he bought many of his parts from Dave Renninger in Bird-In-Hand, PA

Re: Overdrive I. D. If there is number on the one part that the drive shaft bell fits into and if it's a Patent number try doing a search here;
https://google.com/advanced_patent_search Looks like a sun and planet gear unit similar to the Model T Ruckstell. |
Re: Overdrive I. D. I've never seen one like that, but I sure like it and would like to have one for my car.

Re: Overdrive I. D. Looks like a Nice compact unit.

Re: Overdrive I. D. I posted a picture of one of those a while back. It was taken from the bottom and extremely greasy. Am still trying to get the owner to take out the floorboards and do a lot of cleaning but now I don't have too. Hope someone comes up with the answer.
Is it possibly a free wheeling unit? |
Re: Overdrive I. D. Thought I would resurrect this because no one came up with an answer originally. Does anyone have an idea what the heck this is?

Re: Overdrive I. D. My guess is that is the Jumbo Giant transmission for the Model A that was made in Rockford, IL as an accessory. There is a member of the Rock-Ford A's that has one on his car.
