Luggage rack , like early style but different , maybe Sears ?
 

Got a hold of an early style luggage rack ,same length per standards side to side but about an inch less on width .Anyone have pics of other styles maybe offered as aftermarket for Model A' s .

This folding rack represents one of the many different manufacturers who made this type of luggage rack for a large variety of different manufacturers. While those who only own a Ford Model A may only be familiar with the Model A version, the same rack was configured for many other cars as well. Your rack is one of those 'other' cars.

I have the same style rack on my town sedan. I believe, but not sure, some of the vendors were selling repro's like this at one time,. As you state correctly, your rack accommodates a different length/width size trunk than the (repro.) chrome variety rack with wood slats.
