Another Paint Question

I have selected the colors listed below for my 30 coupe. How can I find the paint formula and/or Sherwin Williams paint code for these colors?

Kewanee Green - Dupont Code DS118, Ditzler/PPG Code TCP IM546
Elkpointe Green - Dupont Code DS 127, Ditzler/PPG Code TCPIM543
Apple Green - Dupont Code GS056, Ditzler/PPG Code TCP IM519
Ford Maroon - Dupont Code DS056, Ditzler/PPG Code TCP IM1011

Thanks, David

Re: Another Paint Question

I took a minute to do a search for Sherwin Williams paint color codes & found this web site. I only tried a couple of tries. I clicked on 1931 green & then on Ford to get a table of codes for a variety of manufacturers.

Yes Vern. I have been to this site. The problem is that it does not list the shades of green that I want, even though they are original colors for my year, model.

take the paint chip of your desired color from the official paint and refinish guide and get that digitally scanned....
here is the ford maroon in PPG.

Re: Another Paint Question

Thanks Mitch//pa for the maroon code. Also, I found a PPG dealer that found the other colors by the original numbers I provided. The original Kewanee Green is definitely a lot darker than what most folks are claiming to be Kewanee Green. But I like the "newer lighter" shade that most are using.

Re: Another Paint Question

I don't think Sherwin Williams does not do the old colors but if you can get an accurate sample they can scan it and come up with the right color at least sometimes it works.

take the paint chip of your desired color

You have to remember color chips are ink and not paint and not always accurate.

Re: Another Paint Question

Just go to your local PPG Dealer and ask for the color you want. If they do not have the info they can call their color Library in Strongsville Ohio an get the formula if they don't already have it on the computer.

Re: Another Paint Question

Napa(Martin Senour-Sherwin Williams) has a list of the colors for the Model A.However, the paint code in the list for Kewannee green subs to another color. If you have them mix their code it will be Sherwood green. Not the same color, but it must seem close enough to them.I painted my A in 48 Ford commercial red,it was either Omni or Nason. The paint supplier I use backtracked and crossed the code,it also comes up as Rubelite red, used on the A.

Here are some PPG formulas that I had scanned a while ago.

Re: Another Paint Question

Thanks for all the feedback. I've got some samples from the local PPG guy and having my painter spray some test panels to see if I like the colors.

Re: Another Paint Question

First decide what you want, going back, waterbased, 2k, nitro ?

Remember the last one is best !

Re: Another Paint Question

Try TCP Global's web site. They have done an excellent job in supplying color paint for my early Fords.
