Why the Large Difference in Price for Rumble Seat Stops?

Snyder's has them 28-31 at $16.95, Bratton's at $24.75. I remember that Bratton's had them at over $60 a set a couple of years ago. Is there any difference in these. What have you used and been pleased with?

Was not pleased with the repops, to thin and cheesey looking, so I used originals, more beefy and fit the area of assembly very nice.

Hey Steve, I've looked for a pair of originals since the Truman administration with no luck.

Re: Why the Large Difference in Price for Rumble Seat Stops?

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if 28/29 roadsters used the taller 30/31 rumble style stops? I am asking because due to the taller panel below the lid, like 30/31 coupe and roadsters at 9 1/2" verses 7 1/2" on 28/29 coupes, it would seam that the shorter coupe stops wouldn't work right. If anyone knows about the rumble lid stops on a 28/29 roadster, would you post it here.
Sorry about posting on this thread, but this post is related.

To answer the question. 3 different current rumble stops currently being made. Really cheap ones, pretty good ones and perfect ones.. The Snyders ones are the really cheap ones.

Thought the Automotive Hardware and Trim book would tell us but it does not.

What I did find out is that the rubber bumpers are the same all the way around (installed with tube rivets) and the brackets for the Coupes are A-52486 and that for the Roadster is A-41536 for 28-29 (28-29 Body Parts list).

In looking at the 1930 Body Parts List, it states that the Roadster, Coupe, and Sport Coupe took the A-41536 bracket and the Cabriolet took the A-52486 bracket.

I think Marco addresed this once on here.

Pluck,
So PN A-41536(the taller stop) IS used for 28/29 roadsters and 30/31 coupes and roadsters, right Steve? I had suspected they were the same, as the lower panels are the same height for both 28/29 roadsters and 30/31 coupes and roadsters. I would like to find an original pair for my 28 roadster.

I believe so...I know Ron Rude (Ron in Quincy) has a pair of the short brackets that I sold him when I sold him my Rumble Seat items.

Hey SteveB31, thank you for the input, but rather than knowing who sells the cheap ones I would like to know who sells the good and perfect ones.
