Floor pans Classicparts4U
 

Has anyone had any first hand experience with the floor pans from "Classicparts4U" Michigan location, American made, they show floor pans for 1933-34, 1935-36, 1937-38 and 1939-40. Prices are cheap and with free shipping. Plus a few other V8 toe boards and pickup floor pans listed on ebay. Can anyone give a review about quality and fit from hands on experience. Thanks

I bought a pair of the 39-40 floors and will say they are not as crisp and nice as what Bradley has made in the past , they are obtainable and they don't ignore you like Bradley does and ship promptly. I bought these to patch the floors in a 36 after getting frustrated trying to talk to Bradley. I see nowclassicparts4u now offer the 35-36 floors and I think I will order a set from them instead so I can use the full length rather than sections.

I twice emailed Classicparts4U asking what gauge metal they used in their 49-51 Merc floor and trunk pans and they never replied. That was a hint that they did'nt want to reveal something so I never bought from them. Let us know how you make out.

Well , I broke down ands ordered a set. I just got an e-mail confermation they have been shipped. Even though looking at the pictures in the ad you can see they aren't the quality of Paul Bradleys , at least I can get them.

Their Ebay ad states that they are made from 18 gauge steel.

There is a fellow on the HAMB who's handle is slddnmatt. He runs Townsend Customs in Riverside, Ca. He fabricates floor pans for the 49/51 Mercs and may have trunk pans now. I wasn't impressed with the stuff being sold on flea-pay. Although the gauge is correct, the metal is zinc coated and the beads are very shallow. It just doesn't look right. Matt's stuff is 18 gauge with beads that closely resemble the OEM. His prices compare with the old Green Mountain stuff.

I bought in person a set of floor pans for my 40 sedan project. This car is going to be a low budget build and their quality fits right in there. I'm very happy with what I bought for the price I paid. Unfortunately they don't offer the driveshaft tunnel or rear tool tray. A friend of mine came with me and bought floor and trunk pans for his 71 Duster and in the past I also bought floor pans for my wife's 74 Bronco.
By no means are these concourse correct but they are close enough to pass for something I will be covering with carpet for sure.
To answer your question, I'm very pleased.

I received the floors and can tell you the beads and other details are nowhere near as crisp as the originals or Paul Bradley's. Another thing you see in the ad on e-bay is they are made in 2 pieces and welded but can't tell from the picture in the is the welded area is flanged and lap welded - which was a disappointment to me. Will I use them ? Yes , but if I was to order them knowing what I know now , I would at least ask if I could get them unwelded in 2 pieces if possible so I could butt weld them.

Mine were not welded, they probably do that to save on their free shipping. I think that is wrong to not disclose that. Sorry to hear.

I previously bought a set of 39-40 floors from them like you and they were not welded either.. The 1935-36 floors are about a foot longer and not as flat up near the front seat area as the 39-40 floors. I don't feel the 2 pic design has anything to do with shipping cost but is most likely makes them easier to handle during making them.
