'56 F100 Speedometer Hello All,
I'm in need of guidance. I have a '56 F100 with a stock gauge package. I've installed a T5 transmission from a '95-'97 Mustang with a tag number of 1352-238. I don't know if the speedometer was electronic or analog. Can anyone point me in the right direction to use this transmission with my stock gauges? Any help is greatly appreciated, Mike |
Re: '56 F100 Speedometer 2 Attachment(s)
Do you know what the end that goes into the transmission looked like?
It may have used the cable and gear pictured. Both are available from ebay (and parts stores) but you have to figure out the length of the cable and the number of teeth that you need for the gear (figured using tire size and rear end ratio) I don't know the formula, hopefully some one here can give it to you. There are similar cables with a different end that goes into the trans so I don't know which the trans used. The gear goes on the cable and is held on by a clip. For some electronic you can replace it with the mechanical cable and gear. |
Re: '56 F100 Speedometer I bought a couple tremec's from these guys, the T-5 is in my 'bird. They knew it all in their sleep if you've got a tag number. Might try a phone call.
