Harris Coffee Table Book By MARC Update!

The NEW MARC Coffee Table Directory.

Many of you have received post cards and phone calls from Harris-Connect, the publisher contracted to produce an album of members’ Model “A”s and profiles.

While it’s unfortunate the introduction of this book was not handled in a more efficient and expedient manner, the Board hopes you will consider purchasing a copy for your enjoyment and as a keepsake of your club.

We realize there have been instances where the seller was more forceful than we expected and we have contacted them with a warning to stop the hard sell tactics.

We’re hopeful the sales team has heeded our message and that you have been treated with respect and dignity when called. If this is not the case, please contact us with details and we’ll rectify the situation without delay.

Remember, the purchase of this book is your choice and the information contained in it will come only from you, the member. The Board feels this is a good opportunity for MARC members to be part of a pictorial publication that illustrates who we are at a point in time.

Again, apologies for the cards and calls without prior notice. Should you have any questions regarding the book, its purchase, or Harris-Connect, please feel free to contact the MARC office at:

734.427.9050 or [email protected].

Got the second card in the mail last night. It's in the same re-cycle bin with the first one.

I think it is a good idea, and when I heard it was legit, I did purchase one. I only hope that members do submit pictures and some interesting tidbits about their cars. OK if you don't want to buy, but why not show off our cars and stories?

I'd like a less fancy directory of members at a lot less cost.

Would have been nice to know ahead of time this was coming. This company has sent be cards for college, high school, model Aircraft and a few others.

Sorry but I'm turned off by the deal now and have no interest in calling never mind spending what, $60.00.

I guess I would have a greater interest in purchasing the book if MARC was receiving a percentage of each purchase price. Maybe I missed this information but just in case I didn't I'll ask the question, does MARC receive any part of the purchase price or percentage of the profits or ????

I asked them this very question...The girl I talked to said she did not know and knew of no one who did.

She kept egging me on to buy, buy, buy...I said I would think about it.

Although I have no dog in this fight looking around on Google is an eye-opener, RE: Harris-Connect. Draw your own conclusions.

The price I was quoted included a bunch of magazine subscriptions I didn't want $177.00

I have only been a member of MARC for a few months. Not favorably impressed.

I admit I based the 60.00 on the book they tried to sell me on from my old high school. $100.00 + is outrageous in my opinion.

Here is a question, since MARC receives no money from the sale of the book and only receives the updated database with the information they collect, why do they need the info on the membership as they receive it at the time the member joins and re joins each year?

I never respond to these kind of ads, but for those of you considering it, this link to comments by employees might be enlightening.

That's the kind of company I would have told the person in charge to stick it where the sun doesn't shine........................

I threw both the cards away from the AACA and Marc. I guess they are making the rounds through all the car clubs.

I don't know why on earth something like that would be needed. Reminds me of the "who's who of high school seniors" books they used to peddle to high school parents.

My wife still gets them stemming from one or another of her university degrees. Never quite understood why one would want to pay to have their name in a book, when it only has names of the suckers that paid to have their own name in the book. "Look -- I made it to Who's Who!"
