1940 Seat Back The driver's side seat back in my '40 Tudor is reclined back 2-3" at the top than the one on the passenger side. Is there an adjustment for the seat back angle or is it likely just bent back from years of use?

Re: 1940 Seat Back There's no adjustment. Sounds like a big guy may have been the driver for many years. You may have to take it apart to see if any thing is broken. The outside arm is probably the problem. The seat rests on a flat area on the back outside edge. As a fix you may be able to make a shim that will hold the seat up and correct the difference between the two backrests. A shim of about 1/4" will probably make a big difference at the top. Experiment with some wood shims from your local hardware store.

Re: 1940 Seat Back Thanks TJ. I was hoping there was an adjustment somewhere, but couldn't find one. Looks like shimming it will be easy enough.

Re: 1940 Seat Back Maybe reinforce it with some pipe or tubing on the inside?

Re: 1940 Seat Back Add gussets if you can. You will have to remove seat cushion etc. to do it right.
