2 tooth steering box l/h drive

adjusted box per Les Andrews manual binds up left and rt. 1/2 turnoff center and makes a groaning noise from column steering is smooth and bind free when wheels off pavement binding seems to be in column as no free play in wheel.

If the most-used center section of the worm & sector are worn, adjusting the play out of the center will leave you with a bind to the far right and left. That is why the gears are replaced during a rebuild.

Sounds like your gears are real worn in the center.
