Lifter bore modification for adjustables
 

Got the 12"x3/16" drill bits (3 just in case) and have been going through the Tardel book looking at his modifications of the lifter bores. That is taking 1/4" off the inboard side of each upper lifter bore to allow better access for an end wrench. I know his book is recent but since the newer adjustable lifters have a taller bolt head for better access, is this still a good idea?

If you are using the longer replacement valves it helps to remove material.
The longer valves make it necessary to crank the bolt in to get adjustment.
Found that I could get away with only removing about 1/8 inch of material.
Also choice of cam figures into how much material needs to be removed.
