What to do this Winter?

Almost time to take the car off the road for Winter, I'm kindaa looking forward to it.
I've got a list started of things to do, What's on your list?

*New numbers on the speedo
*Re-build steering box
*Re-build tie rods and drag link
*Change to short pitman arm
*Fix/repair/replace anything in front-end thats bad
*Paint steering column and dash (gas tank)
*Re-set windshield in frame
*New windshield seals
*Check/repair/replace all brakes
*Clean/repair/paint/grease all window regulators
*Install all new window channels
*Repair front passenger door hinge
*Install rearview mirror
*Re-torgue head (hope I don't break a stud)
*Re-build water pump
And maybe...just maybe start on the body work, nothing major, just small dings and dents.
This is my short list so far....and you?

Was wondering which window channels you will be installing and from who?

I got mine from Snyder's for my PU. Have installed driver's side and it works great. Still need to do passenger side.

Re: What to do this Winter?

My CCPU is 2000 miles from me right now, so I all I can do is buy parts.

Still need:
exhaust,
glass,
floorboard,
seat,
horn,
gas tank (I think I have one picked out)..

I'll do a little work on the engine, maybe even button it up. We'll see how much time I get with it.

Will most likely go with Mac's on that, they have both kits I need so I can get it all with one order.

But as always, everything is subject to change...without notice.

Re: What to do this Winter?

Burner, I may have a list just as extensive, if not more so!

*Replace Gas Tank
*Readdress Exhaust
*Get a new windshield frame
*Check the tires and rims
*Investigate the brakes, I'm guessing they'll need a complete overhaul
*Investigate the front end and repair/ replace parts as needed
*Sand the car down and prep for a spray can paint job in the spring that will help protect the car until i have enough money to do body work properly
*Fix the parking lights, and potentially purchase aluminum reflectors from Brattons
*Replace light wiring harness (this may get pushed off as it isn't need all that bad at the moment)
*Try to stop the light switch from moving when turning the steering wheel.

DJ S,
TIP# 831-- Minervas' light switch turned also---Made a PLAY-DOUGH dam around the lever, filled it with 10-30 Detergent oil, let it sit for 3 days & it worked PERFECT!

Re: What to do this Winter?

I am going to get back to normal. I have been working on my 1930 pickup since early march. Only a few more weeks of nice weather. When the snow comes I will be busy firing up my snowblower. Any work needed on my model a's will wait till next spring.. Don't have a heated garage and too cold here in the winter do any model a work..
