Tool compartment covers What type of wood and finish are the trunk tool compartment covers on a 1941 Ford? These compartments are at the rear of the trunk floor. There are 2 with a divider which is part of the floor.

Re: Tool compartment covers My original 40s look to be about 3/8" thick plywood. Don't know about 41s.

Re: Tool compartment covers Thanks, guys. I am sure they were all the same. My covers are plywood and painted black,not stained. They are pretty rough so I thought I would make new ones.

Re: Tool compartment covers Boiled linseed oil and black OIL based paint @ 50/50 would be my recommendation.
