Suprise Arrival I wasn't expecting this until tomorrow or Friday......but.......here it is.
A '29 Sport Coupe that needs some attention. It belongs to a friend of mine and it has had little attention since he has such a busy schedule. The plan is to get it back to a safe running and driving vehicle. So we will go through the whole car to get it that way. Does the fun ever stop? :) |
Re: Suprise Arrival I'll bet that paint shines up real nice under all that dust.
|
Re: Suprise Arrival u lucky dog
whats the history? |
Re: Suprise Arrival Well, this is just a work project as the vehicle is still his.
I have no history on it but my friend purchased it about a year and a half ago. I saw it advertised then but I was not in a position to bag it for myself. So, I get to get her road worthy. |
Re: Suprise Arrival Nice, looks like a solid car...
|
Re: Suprise Arrival We are hoping but you never know what you'll discover.
|
Re: Suprise Arrival The step plate on the fender looks low and seems to have a shim. Is that the pic or is it a little different?
|
Re: Suprise Arrival id push it back outside and give it a good wash and see how she looks. I bet it will shine up really well.
|
Re: Suprise Arrival Sweet, make sure you give it a very good test drive after your done and before you give it back, say maybe, two/three thousand miles, you know...just to be sure.
This could take a while. |
Re: Suprise Arrival More pictures please, looks great good luck.
|
Re: Suprise Arrival Yes, I to noticed the step plate. Not sure yet what that is all about.
It certainly does need a good bath! I agree a few thousand test miles outta do it! :) As we go through this.....I'm real good at getting lots of pics. |
Re: Suprise Arrival good for your friend (the owner of the car) for wanting to go through the paces to check over the entire car mechanically before using it. that seems to be a rarity as many of the new owner posts i read just get in them and go, then start posting all their issues and problems. many dont even check the flluids

Re: Suprise Arrival Enjoy the project. Wake up and clean up seems to be more common than restoration nowadays, and still a rewarding experience.
|
Re: Suprise Arrival Thanks. It is going to be fun for sure.
To my knowledge this is a Canadian built car and the use of Robertson screws leads me to believe this. A few more pics. The gas in the bowl sure is ugly. A recommendation to pull it and flush it and seal it. Nice set of wheels and tires to go on it. Powerhouse gen.......e brake above the shifter........ It was running when he bought it but he put a different carb and distrib on it thinking it would help and it never started after that. Little of this and a little of that to get her road ready. |
Re: Suprise Arrival It even has the correct Canadian powerhouse.
Notice the larger diameter and tapered edge down to the rear cover. |
Re: Suprise Arrival Thanks. Did not notice that.

Re: Suprise Arrival Here ya go.
|
Re: Suprise Arrival A little clean up of the exterior.........washing won't help the poor done in paint job.
|
