8BA water issue in valley

Hey guys i was doing a little work on my 39 and decided to pull the intake on the 8BA . When I opened her up she had antifreeze in some pockets around the lifters in the back two cylinders on the drivers side. The car runs good and doesn't smoke. Could it be a head gasket somehow since it hasn't been rebuilt or does it sound like I have cracks in those areas

I have an otherwise nice 1941 truck block with a crack behind the valve springs. I have hope to fix it using by brazing. My crack runs vertically, about 2-3" long. By previous experience, this area is thin, maybe a bit less than 3/16".

In your case I would pressure test it in place, disconnect the heater and radiator. Put about 20 lb. air pressure in the block, use a bit of soapy water in a spray bottle to find bubbles.
This would be worst case, I think that you could still save the block.

Hope that it's easier than this,
Karl
