Looks like a fun ride and good for hauling.
Someone put a 30-1 style water outlet on the head, and this is about an inch taller than the correct 28-9 outlet. It's easy to tell by looking at the upper hose angle. It should be a straight shot from the outlet to the radiator inlet.

It may not be a big deal, but it would put less strain on the radiator inlet pipe. Plus you won't have to listen to 20 people tell you it's wrong at the car shows. LOL:eek:

Nice looking truck! I am debating on if I should buy a 30 PU in pieces for my next project. That would be several years down the road but the price may be right....

I avoid any car shows or events that have Model A people at them. Don't like to hear what is wrong with my car. I like compliments.

Nice ride, I have a 29 also. Obviously the tops were not supposed to come down but Lebarron Bonney has a complete foldinpg top for about $3500 dollars. Wayne

Thanks Tom- it runs fine as is............. ha!
Did change out the instrument cluster today. Had no speedo and a botched ammeter
where the speedo goes. Also installed an original shutoff, some chinese looking thing
was under there and wouldnt hold the pencil filter. She idles down nice and slow.......
can watch the fan turn.
Not going to do a lot to her, as she will be a local grocery hauler.

Question on the top-the canvas for the rpu is totally different then a roadster-correct? Does anyone sell a stitched top?

drive it and have fun, work on it as it suits you. Most of the people that see it will appreciate it for what it is. And the price was right!

Yes, I do believe the RPU have a completely different top that the roadsters. I also believe the RPUs tops don't fold down either unless you adapt it.

Have fun with it! When they point it out yell,

Congratulations, you found it!!

(using for best radio announcer voice) and hand them a lollipop.

99.99% of the time they don't mean it in a mean spirited way when they point things out. So have fun, you might even make a new friend!

Re: new addition from the bay...............

I have a '28 roadster and a '28 RPU. The tops are completely different. The RPU top doesn't fold but is easily removed as it is attached to the wooden belt rail with snap fasteners. (I don't think that it was originally done that way.) The roadster top is not removable as the rear is permanently attached.

Yes, LeBaron Bonney. If you are interested, PM me, I have one.

Re: new addition from the bay...............

If you want it to fold down you will have to buy the aftermarket mechanism because they did not come that way! Wayne

I did just that. I think it's a little better to buy a basket case. This way, you can see more regarding condition of the parts.
