speedometers

I have ben collecting parts to put a speedometer in my 1922 T roadster . When looked to mount the large ring gear on the wheel it looks like there should be some spacers to get it mounted coretly. Can anybody shed some light on this or post a close up picture of the ring gear and swivel ?

Howdy -

My 1914 came with a Sears Cross speedometer that was disconnected and the hub that was on the front right wheel isn't compatible with the speedometer gear. The necessary gear and hub were included in the purchase however - photos below.

The hub that receives the speedometer sprocket is cast with a lip on it that the gear is bolted to and the necessary holes in the hub that align with bolt holes in the gear.

I'm not sure this speedometer was standard equipment in 1914 (apparently Stewart was standard equipment with the mechanism and the reduced drive sprocket behind the axle - mine's in front perhaps because, as I just found out here, the axle isn't original). If it was then I suspect the hub that's currently on my car is probably from an earlier model.
