Panel Between Rear Fenders - Fordor What is that panel called that mounts below the rear of the body and between the rear fender on the 1928 and 1929 Fordors? Looks to me like its a filler panel. Also, where could a fella go to procure one?
Thank you gentlemen! |
Re: Panel Between Rear Fenders - Fordor Rear Valance. There's some for sale in the Swap Meet section.

Re: Panel Between Rear Fenders - Fordor Are the rear valance panels different between Briggs and Murray bodies?
Anyone out there have a pic to post? |
Re: Panel Between Rear Fenders - Fordor 4 Attachment(s)
The back splash pans, or rear valance panels, are pretty much different for each body style. The ones I know are:
1929-30 Briggs fordor. 1929-30 Murray fordor. 1930-31 Victoria. 1931 Slant windshield fordor. 1931 A-400. 1930-31 Deluxe (2-door) phaeton. I have attached photos of our fiberglass replacement ones. |
Re: Panel Between Rear Fenders - Fordor Yes I was working under the name "Rear Splash panel" when I was looking for mine. As Karl says, there are at least four and only used on the models shown which not too many survived. I was going nuts looking for one I could live with at Hershey. I'd find one or two but they were overpriced or they needed too much work. I succeeded in finding a good for $100 the next year. I grabbed it on Wednesday morn soon after I arrived. The trip was worth it!
