Parts Find

Just got back from vacation in New England. Traveling in Maine with my wife and she sees an estate sale so in we go. Someone points me to a barn with "the old man" out there trying to sell some of his stuff. I find a treasure trove of Model A engine parts. He tells me they are Model T and I can have them all for $50. I tell him that they are worth much more than that and give him $100. You never saw a smile like that. He put his arm around my shoulder and proceeded to tell me his life story. Overall there are two engines torn down and from what I can tell, all the parts for each except the heads.

These are the two blocks

One picture of just some of the parts

I also bought a generator, sparton horn, and a fan blade. I also found these three items in the lot. Anyone know what they may be? We got all into the back of our VW SUV, but it left no possibility for my wife to buy anything!

Also he gave me this old set of staking tools. He said they were for watch making, which he used to do eons ago. If there are any Ford Barners that would like to have these staking tools, just send me a message with an address and I will send them to you free of charge. I cannot see any use for them myself.

The wrench on the right is for a model T. The large hex if for the hub caps, the middle hex is for the front bearing, and I forgot what the other hex is for, possible rear axle nut. The other wrench might be for the front bearing, looks like the same size. I have no idea what the ring is for.

The middle wrench resembles a tailstock wrench for a lathe.

Back in the 50s I can remember Dads Tool collection Boy was it primative compared to my tools. But Dad was a Really great Farmer and I was a Iron Worker. Those tools he got are in Dads tool chest. Good Memories in that post Thanks Don in N-W Indiana

I am sending the staking tools to the first person that requested them. Bob in Brentwood CA. I am glad there is some interest in them. Biggest thing to me is to have some of the stuff of my Dad's that I know I will never use, find a user that will appreciate them. If you could have just seen the 2,800 lbs of steel and stuff that I did just throw away to a salvage place, who knows what treasures might have been in there!
