Ford Bendix radio schematic

1 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody!
I’m searching for a schematic for the radio in a Crestline Victoria -52. It’s a Bendix model M-4. I’m not afraid to pay for it. The radio is absolutely dead and when it comes alive its useless in Sweden anyway! We have only FM! So what’s the plan? I’m going to build in a 3,5mm input connection and use my mobile or mp3. I think it’s a easy mod and it don’t destroy the radio. Maybe I can fix it without schematic but it will be much easier to identify valves and components.
Have a nice weekend!

First i love tubeaudio and do fix them...but..
A tube driven car radio has a lot of disadvantages you have to shop up the DC to get a descent B+ feed, its a mechanical vibrator doing it that wears out and is not as common as replacement tubes.
My suggestion lift out the guts nicely keep it stored.
Install a modern FM receiver/amp in a nondestructive way using the original controls.
You can find compact units on Epray with airtune to hook up your Phone as mediaplayer without any cords showing.
Or just wire into the controls and hide the new player anywhere under the dash.
A tube amp is very basic, reverse engineering it from the tubes is fairly easy and they are very forgiving.

Do an internet search. There is a site, that I can't remember the name of, that has the schematics for old radios that you can down load for free. I found the proper one for my 1946 Philco there. There is a very good chance that you will find what you want as they had an amazing amount of information. Sorry I can't post a link to the site as I'm having to use my lap top and don't have the site bookmarked on it.

www.radiomuseum.org is a good start.
You have to register to get access to the schematics.
You can request schematics not available and the members will dig them out for you !
