Replacing Lighting wiring harness
 

Where could I find reference material on the steps required to replace my Main Lighting wiring harness on a 1933 model B ford Fordor sedan.
Are there existing conduits involved? I can see the wires looking into the hood of my car. Do I just lay the new harness alonside and remove each old connection and reconnect to the new harness until I have everything wired up? I did some simple connections when I install a right hand tail light "crossover cable".

Frank, I know that wiring diagrams can be intimidating! What you suggested isn't as straight forward as it may seem: A much easier way is to sit comfortably at your work bench and label each new wire end first, going by the color codes on the wiring diagram. Then under the car, label each connection as you disconnect the old harness. When the old harness is completely off and set aside, lay the new harness in place and begin the install. In this way, you'll be on top of the situation all the way, with much less chance of confusion.

Check with RI and see if they supply the harness with the Light Switch prewired. It should come with the Switch Plate already connected. These are some photos from ebay, but your harness should look similar. The wiring on these cars is very simple and straight forward. Your biggest problem will most likely be your existing wiring will be so faded that you can't tell what the original color coding is. But the new wiring should match the original color coding on the wiring diagrams.
