headlight bar paint

Do the sockets on the headlight bar get painted? I am uncertain if I should leave these areas unpainted. What is "correct"?

Re: headlight bar paint

leave the inside of the mounting cups on the bar unpainted so the headlights will have a good ground to light

I had the whole thing powder coated and then run an extra wire for the ground.

The ground paths need to be carefully thought out.

The path from the frame to the head light socket must be clear. Keep in mind that the 4 pads where the bolts are should be clear of paint too as well as the mating surfaces on the fenders and the bracket.

I paint the bar and bucket cups and then clean to bare metal where the lock washers and nuts fasten. I also clean where the bolts and nuts fasten the bar to the fenders.
