Flat Cab 1932 Cabriolet Well I am sure you know the story from the hamb or the Rodders Journal ... but if ya dont check it out !!!
i know this car isnt 100 percent stock like we like on here but i thought it was very interesting and share worthy . if its not ok please remove thread . it has 34 head lights and taillights and a later flathead . http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/t...r-once.871291/ It all started with an email and some picture exchanging but the 32 was coming in for some love . The car to me was a little to far gone to preserve what was there but still in amazing shape . The plan is to keep as much Ford as we can in this thing . No frame off resto just replace whats needed and thats it . The owner will be blowing black lacquer back in with some distressing to match the paint back up . We will have the Cab and a few other cars at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix this year if you are interested in seeing them !! heres where we start ! http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psgmcj1zcp.jpg dented grill shell http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psmroeybxd.jpg not anymore http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps1lecrxsx.jpg bottoms of rear fenders were thin http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psul9hzfyl.jpg some por 15 http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps286jtwik.jpg and we are patched up http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps6eo0xhxi.jpg same thin ness on the drivers side http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...pso7alovmd.jpg and the repair http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psx6ivingl.jpg rumble seat http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psjbiq8oj7.jpg in all her glory http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbgfprtpx.jpg amazingly solid car !! http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9nvcctz2.jpg we are guessing 50 pontiac taillights at some point between 1949-1959 http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psisghl8rq.jpg primer over old lead . http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psd41prxck.jpg |

http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps5xe0sdka.jpg back panel out for repair http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psiyjh3e2h.jpg the quarters cracked . that was the main reason for popping the panel out http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psz8amjv61.jpg started the repair on the panel under the decklid where the lights once were . http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psfk5ahaxj.jpg finished off with the DA http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps22xjglod.jpg other side the same thing was done http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps179d4tyn.jpg the debate .... correct or not correct ?!?! http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps73xi7vy6.jpg |
Re: Flat Cab 1932 Cabriolet 9/29/57 ...could the have put 100k miles on it from 32 to 57 ? With the new motor being put in around 41 and not running correctly after Im guessing no .
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...pssaqwflhm.jpg old custom interior http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psmilbidff.jpg running boards were a little thin on a few edges . they have since been repaired. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...pswxacd7di.jpg panel under the rad http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psvtcnjlgl.jpg now the fun stuff http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psq0zbomis.jpg lead lead lead http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psqghjthrm.jpg made the dies for my pullmax type machine to recreate the body line http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psicfy1bhi.jpg and after a little tig welding and metal finishing http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psevodh5wc.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psahvmpivx.jpg there was an old patch here . cover a hole the size of a dime . http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psdediduv2.jpg much better . close to ford as i can come . random extra hole with sheetmetal circle behind it http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...pshe8lumjm.jpg http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psghgbydds.jpg |
Re: Flat Cab 1932 Cabriolet carving a straight line out of tig is never to much fun . I would say it came out ok !
