Tail light fuse 1950 pass

I can just barely touch the fuses that are above the speedo. Any advice on replacing them?

Surely, some one that owns a 50 has replaced these fuses?

all i can offer is you must have flexability.... what workrd best for me was have the seat all the way back, on my back on the seat with both legs over the back of the seat and slide slowly under the dash as far as i could. using one of the little plastic fuse grabbers helps.... and a good light source to see where your fingers are......

What has me confused is the shop manual shows a picture of the back of the dash showing the two fuses and the circuit breaker mounted just above the ignition switch. I have a friend who has two 50's and his cars as described above. My car has the fuses and breaker ABOVE the SPEEDOMETER? They are impossible to reach. (wires and cable in the way) Do I have to remove the gauge panel to get to them?

probably depending on where the car was assembled, changes and variants occour.. mine have always been near the igy switch

I'd probably remove the gauge panel and relocate the fuse block.
Seems to me that just about every old American car I've owned have fuse blocks in locations that require a circus contortionist to access. So what's up with that? Did they expect that the fuses would never blow? Did they expect changing a fuse to be a dealer service visit with lots of labor hours?
