Hex head hinge bolt dimensions...

Providing for a few guy that were asking for some measurements on the cowl vent hinge bolts.

First is the length and that is just a 1/4 thread , 2nd is that first shoulder width and the 3rd is that last shoulder width before the threads start.

Hope these help. Scott

Those bolts look like hood bolts.

Yup, better known as shoulder-shank screws. DD

That were probably used in many ways and many vehicles. They were not in my hood and could not be used as such, 39 Pick-up. I have the pictured 1/4-28 x 3/8" safety wire bolts that secure my hood to my hinge (4) four total. That raised area below the bolt is were the hood hinge slides over like that shoulder-shank screw would.

The shoulder-shank screw, two that I took out of the upper cab support to cowl vent hinge are what was in my truck. This is interesting to find were a lot of this hardware might show up.

I will send an e-mail to the Fordbolts king, Roy Nacewicz and get some clarification of this and those two "potato" chip washers in my other related thread. Thanks for the input. Scott
