Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan You have to watch this old movie, "Too fast to live, too young to die". Some great old Fords in this Youtube. What a waste of a nice 1933 Fordor Sedan.

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan True, but when that movie was made the used car lots were full of them.

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan Don't have to watch a movie to see old cars destroyed. I personally participated in destroying many, One in particular comes to mind, a 1941 Lincoln continental that was purchased for $15.

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan Any dirt track almost any weekend!

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan That's a great little video mashup and a perfect example of how much power these old flathead V8s have!

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan The interior shots were in what looks to be a '37 Ford or at least a car with a '37 Ford instrument panel, in contrast to the exterior footage.

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan This short is all scenes from 1941's " Never give a sucker an even break " . Check out the undercarriage on the prop car lifted way up . In the movie it looks like they had 4 of these 33's to mess up .

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan If you thinks that's bad, you don't even want to see what Fields does to a '32 Ford in "If I had a Million"!

Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan It's amazing to see the stunts performed in the early days of film. Some great work there. Also, the cutie at the closing scene has quite the face. What a doll!

My first year of driving Modified Hardtops as they were called at the time in Michigan.
The Photos were taken the summer of 1955 at the Motor City Speedway in Detroit. Friday night and Saturday morning. (I didn't get a scratch.) The Ford Coupe did't fair as well! I did take out most of a long Coca-Cola sign on the back stretch! Mark |

The early Ford V8's were also popular as Stock Cars in Australia, as these pictures of a 1933 Sedan, 1935 Five Window Coupe and 1937 Club Coupe show. I don't know how many races they would survive for, before the owners went looking for a replacement. Unfortunately, a lot of old Ford V8's met their fate on these dirt tracks around the world, but it was at a time when they were practically worthless and no one seemed to be concerned or care. Watching these old Fords back then was exciting, but today, we cringe at the thought! |
Re: Sad ending for a 1933 Ford Sedan My current 33 and 34 5w coupes are ex-dirt track cars. Takes a lot of work to repair the race car years damage, but it is also a lot of fun bringing them back from the grave! Learn a lot about the bodies when you have to rework about everything. There is a collage near me that teaches auto restoration and I get to buy the ones that they determine are beyond saving.

This picture is one of the last scenes in the movie "Too fast to live, too young to die" that I posted at the start of this Thread. Are you sure that it was in "Never Give a Sucker an Even Break"? Regards Mercman <>< |
