Where can I find the max inside diameter for turning the front drums on a 1947 Mercury? Also, how do the hub and drum come apart, do you press the studs inward then press the hub out from the drum? Thanks

Max diameter is 12.060. You don't remove the drums from the hubs unless you need to replace the drums. If you need to you need a 20 ton press, special tools and the knowledge how to do it. A big hammer will just result in scrap parts.

I need to replace the drums, all the drums that I found online (Mac's, C&G) say the same thing "hubs insert from inside". these pic's are of the drum just as it came off the car. (1947 Mercury). Are all drums the same? I am not sure exactly what I am looking for.

The hubs from the drums that you pictured will not work with MT Products reproduction brake drums. The hubs you have to use are "01A" and used on 1940 - 1942 Fords, typically. Those hubs fit into the drums from the inside, with the hub flange on the inside.

It is also required to drill the stud holes in the hub slightly larger and install new, longer studs because the new brake drums are thicker.

OR...

New hubs of the correct style are also available and have the correct longer studs required.
